2014 Park 'N Ride Results

New this year: “Wheels for Wings” is the theme for the 5th Annual Park ‘N Ride Rally where our efforts benefit Angel Flight West (AFW). AFW is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air transportation within the 13 Western states for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. AFW matches up volunteer pilots to people in need, enabling them to receive medical treatment and other vital care that might otherwise be inaccessible because of financial, medical, or geographic limitations. Charity Navigator has awarded AFW their coveted four-star rating for sound fiscal management. Participants in our rally will be given the opportunity to donate to the AFW both as an outright donation and via participating in our silent auction where all proceeds will go to that worthy cause. All those at the finish location turning in a score sheet will be eligible for one of our numerous door prizes while those in the Open class will be competing for gift certificates of $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd.Novice class riders will compete for a trophy and gift certificates.

Rally: A noun defined as a large meeting or gathering of people, usually organized by a movement and intended to inspire and generate enthusiasm among those present. Also a verb; as to come together uniting for a common purpose or in a common cause.

Park ‘N Ride Rally: Both a noun and a verb. Defined as a group of people ultimately gathered at New Century BMW Motorcycles in Alhambra, CA to share their experiences of the eight hours they have just spent seeing bonus locations they may not have known existed. In the course of their day they have had fun and faced some challenges.

Designed for mere mortals: The Park 'N Ride Rally is an easy to complete day ride to some of the most interesting places in California and some surrounding states. We'll have two classes, a Novice class where you only have to cover 100 miles and go to 3 bonus locations to be a finisher; and an Open class, which is for more experienced rally riders or those who like a challenge. We've designed this rally so it won't matter if you are coming from San Diego, San Francisco, Utah or Arizona. You can start near home and won't have to travel a long distance to complete the rally or be competitive. The rally's finish is at New Century BMW Motorcycles, 3001 West Main Street Alhambra, CA 91801 (626) 282-2233.

2014 Open and Novice Class Winners

What we've done: Adapt the "acquire bonus points" goals of some of the more well known long distance rallies into an easy-to-complete eight-hour day ride (you'll have from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m to finish the rally, but you can certainly ride a shorter day) by setting up a series of bonus locations local to California, Arizona and Utah. No special equipment is needed and any street legal bike or scooter will do just fine. So if you're interested in a bit of a challenge and want to enjoy a great day of riding just click the "On-Line Rally Registration” or "Rally FAQ" and you can get started
